Net Zero 2030? Game on.

Eagle’s Net Zero Action Plan:

Grounded in the Town of Eagle’s baseline 2020 inventory of 85,078 metric tons of CO2e, the Town of Eagle Net Zero Action Plan—developed in partnership with the Adam Palmer Sustainability Fund—establishes a comprehensive, community-wide strategy to achieve net zero emissions by 2030. The plan targets three primary operational sectors to eliminate local carbon output: Transportation (47% of baseline emissions) through a 65% reduction in vehicle miles traveled (VMTs) and 75% electric vehicle adoption; Building Energy (39% of baseline emissions) by mandating all-electric new construction, benchmarking commercial properties, and electrifying 50% of existing homes and businesses with cold-climate heat pumps; and Waste Management (14% of baseline emissions) by diverting 90% of organic waste and implementing universal recycling and composting. Operating as a philanthropic revolving loan fund, the Palmer Fund provides seed capital and financial mechanisms to bridge cost gaps, scaling community engagement and regional climate equity while honoring the legacy of environmental leadership.

Transportation

Reduce Vehicle Miles Travelled and transition to EV’s. Transportation is 47% of baseline emissions.

Electrification

Electrify existing residential and commercial buildings. Building energy use is 39% of baseline emissions.

Waste

Reduce the carbon intensity of our waste through composting. Waste is 14% of baseline emissions.
